Madrid, Spain’s central capital, is a city of elegant boulevards and expansive, manicured parks such as the Buen Retiro. It’s renowned for its rich repositories of European art, including the Prado Museum’s works by Goya, Velázquez and other Spanish masters. The heart of old Hapsburg Madrid is the portico-lined Plaza Mayor, and nearby is the baroque Royal Palace and Armory, displaying historic weaponry. Madrid gets incredibly busy but is a crucial place to visit in Europe. This is a huge city so it’s easily possible to spend many days exploring. Very crowded and amazing especially during evening and night time. This area is like the 5th Avenue of NYC, lined with shops, bars and restaurants, be sure to find whatever you are looking for in Gran Via. Besides the above, there are also theatres. Gran Via always felt safe and clean and it felt as though it never slept. This city has a great combination of old and new and, f you enjoy walking this is a great area. Probably. This is certainly an area that worth to explore if you like architecture and urbanism. Visited places: Calle Gran Vía, El Corte Inglés, Plaza del Callao, Plaza Real, Primark Madrid and more.
